Amarachi Joy Mbakwe
Amarachi Joy Mbakwe, known professionally as Amarachi Joy, is a Nigerian gospel music minister who has been active in the music industry for two decades. She celebrates her birthday on March 22nd.
Her musical journey officially began in 2006 with her first album, though it was her song “Favour Room” that truly propelled her into the limelight. This particular song became widely popular, especially among women, for its message related to childbirth, stemming from Amarachi Joy’s own experience of being pregnant with her first child when she sang it.
Amarachi Joy is known for receiving her songs through divine revelation, dreams, trances, and intense prayer, emphasizing that her music is an assignment rather than mere entertainment. Her discography includes several albums and singles. Notable works include “Akarakam” (meaning “my destiny”), “Jesus My Comforter,” “Favour Room Special,” “Favour Room Vol. 2,” and more recently, singles like “God of the Prophets,” “See How Beautiful Jesus Can Be,” and “Onye Dika Chi.”
Her 2025 single, “God of the Prophets,” has garnered significant attention for its bold message affirming the existence of true prophets and challenging cynicism in an era of skepticism. This song, like many of her others, came to her through revelation and aims to remind listeners that “Heaven still speaks.”
Amarachi Joy is married to a veteran in gospel music. She hails from Imo State, Nigeria.
