Revered in his hometown of Orji Autonomous Community, he was bestowed with the title “Aku Ji Eshi Obi Ike,” which means “Wealth Gives Confidence.”
Born on December 5, 1945, to the family of the late Mazi Chima Orji, in Owerri North LGA, Imo State, Nigeria, Nze Dan Orji was a cornerstone of the highlife genre. His musical contributions continue to be celebrated, cementing his legacy as one of the most influential figures in bongo highlife music.
