Download Ojadiligbo – Orimmili Bia Mp3
“Orimmili Bia” by Ojadiligbo is a remarkable manifestation of Igbo cultural heritage, drawing on the ancient art form of “mbem” to create a unique and spiritually resonant musical experience. Aptly self-styled as the “Mmuo Inwelle” or “Flute god,” Ojadiligbo infuses this original Igbo mbem song with authenticity, invoking a nostalgic and spiritual awakening.
Mbem, characterized by a blend of poetic speech and song, finds its revival in this captivating rendition. The lyrics are delivered with a rhythmic and poetic cadence, reminiscent of the narrative style found in rap music. Ojadiligbo skillfully weaves words, melody, and the enchanting sounds of the Oja (flute) to create an immersive experience that transports listeners into the heart of Igbo cultural expression.
The title “Orimmili Bia,” when translated, means “Orimmili, come.” This invocation to Orimmili, a spiritual entity in Igbo cosmology associated with water, reflects a profound connection to ancestral and elemental forces.
