Download Patoranking Tonight ft. Popcaan mp3
Prominent Nigerian reggae-dancehall singer and songwriter, Patoranking, makes a musical comeback with a brand new intriguing hit track captioned “Tonight.” This explosive collaboration is a Nigerian-Jamaican anthem, released in July 2023, designed explicitly as a party starter to soundtrack a stress-free and celebratory night of enjoyment.
To make the track truly electrifying, Patoranking enlisted the musical talents of Popcaan, a highly talented and popular Jamaican deejay, singer, and songwriter known as the Unruly Boss. The synergy between the two Dancehall icons is immediately apparent, with their voices and signature patois deliveries blending over a groovy, irresistible production. The beat, masterfully crafted by Ghanaian producer DJ Breezy (the same producer behind the massive hit “My Woman, My Everything”), features an uptempo rhythm that heavily channels the Nigerian Galala sound—a native, reggae-inspired music and dance style popular in Lagos ghettos, which is one of Patoranking’s favourite musical stylings.
In addition to that, this new release acts as a follow-up to his previous socio-politically conscious single, “Abobi,” offering listeners a welcome pivot to themes of love and revelry. The lyrics of “Tonight” are direct and carefree, focusing on basking in the moment where fun and good company take precedence over any worries. The collaboration successfully bridges the gap between the Afro-world and the Dancehall world, creating a high-value piece of music that appeals across continents and genres.
The track is also a key component of Patoranking’s acclaimed fourth studio album, “World Best Album,” a project that affirmed his status as a master synthesiser of diverse sounds. Plus, this new captivating track is an absolute must-have for your music collection if you have a deep affection for good music that effortlessly fuses African and Caribbean rhythms, delivering a premium, high-energy party vibe.
